Chelsea defeated Manchester United by 1-0 in the FA Cup final played at the Wembley stadium through an Eden Hazard's penalty. The Belgium international's superb control from a counter attack beat Phil Jones as he raced clear on a one-on-one situation with De Gea. Jones fouled Hazard in the box as a penalty was awarded to Chelsea and Hazard sends De Gea the wrong way to score the only goal of the match.
Antonio Conte's side dominated the first half as they went into the break with one-goal advantage. However Jose Mourinho's men came out strongly in the second period as chances came begging but were denied by brilliant Thibaut Courtois on the night. Alexis Sanchez scored a goal but referee Michael Oliver's assistant ruled the ball for an offside through the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) as the London club held on to claim victory.
Conte will have something to cheer about following his side's poor run in the Premier League as they came fifth on the log. His side were also beaten in the FA Cup final last season by Arsenal who ran away with a 2-1 victory.
