The deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has alleged that the national chairman of the party, John Oyegun, is planning to oust some prominent members of the party including Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar among others. Frank made the allegation in a release he signed and made available to journalists, on Thursday, January 26, The Sun reports. “Chief Oyegun is vigorously working to ensure that he pushes out some prominent members of the party including the National Leader Bola Tinubu, myself and so many other leaders who have spoken against his leadership style which is now more of a dictator,” he said.
The APC spokesperson accused the national chairman of breaching the party’s constitution several times, even as regard to national convention which the party law states clearly that it must be held every two years. The APC deputy spokesman challenged Oyegun to tell the world how he plans to fill some vacant positions in the NWC when “he is talking of non-elective national convention.” Frank said members should be allowed to critise the wrong doing of the handler of the party if APC is a democratic party He alleged that the convention template prepared by the Oyegun led NWC is designed to favour some interests within the party ahead of 2019 general elections and urged members to reject it.
