President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, June 30, received Samuel Ortom the governor of Benue state, at the Presidential Villa Abuja. His visit is coming shortly after the Nasarawa state governor, Al-Makura Tanko visited the president. In a series of pictures released by the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the governor was seen discussing with the president.

On his visit to the president, Otrom said: “I am here to interact with Mr president and intimate him about the security situation in my state and then the economic issues at least for him to know what the state is going through and that, we have discussed. We are onto the situation. Security wise, the kidnappings, the killings, etc.” Governor Ortom has also applauded the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for arresting and investigating the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Terkimbir Ikyange; the deputy speaker, James Okefe and the majority leader, Benjamin Adanyi. He added that nobody should be an exception in the ongoing anti-corruption war in the country.
