The Senate on Thursday, June 30, walked out Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution, Okoi Obla, for attempting to represent Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, over alleged forgery of Senate rules. The committee headed by Senator David Umaru insisted that the summon was for the AGF and not for any aides. “Our invitation was to the Honourable Attorney General and I am sure you are not Hon. Attorney general. So we cannot hear you, I am sorry. “Please take your leave.

There is no invitation for the president to appear before this committee. The person we invited is the Attorney general of the federation. Since he is not here , that means he did not respond to our invitation,” he said. Senators David Umaru, Joshua Lidani and Chukwuka Utazi, who attended the meeting, expressed displeasure over the absence of the AGF who they summoned to explain the forgery allegations leveled against the senate leadership. On his way out, a visibly angry Obla told newsmen that the Senate has no jurisdiction to summon the AGF as he is only answerable to the President.
