The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party,PDP in Ipokia local government area of Ogun state, Alhaji Saruku Suraju has died in a hotel in the town of Ipokia. He was aged 68. The PDP leader, famously called Aro Meta had gone into the hotel with a female friend, who disappeared before he was found dead.
His death at De Lovers Hotel on Friday night has triggered a number of conspiracy theories. It also caused to be postponed the conferment of an Islamic chieftaincy title on him at the town’s central mosque. According to family sources he died around 9:00pm on Friday and he was buried on Saturday, according to Islamic rites. “He was on his way to the meeting when they said,a lady called him on his phone and asked him to join her in the hotel. It was his body that was later taken out from the hotel with series of speculations flying around. The PDP chieftain had three wives in his lifetime. But none was living with him at the time of his death.The man was staying alone without any woman living with him as at the time he died.
