Buhari orders APC North West Governors to reconcile Ganduje, Kwankwaso

President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have intervened in the crisis between Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and his predecessor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso. At the instance of the President, six governors of the APC from the North-west held a meeting on Monday, with Kwankwaso and Ganduje at the former’s residence in Abuja. 

Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, other governors in attendance were, Nasir el-Rufa’i (Kaduna), Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Aminu Masari (Katsina) and Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi) attended the meeting. Buhari, it was gathered, was concerned that the crisis may spread to other places and put the APC into trouble. Kwankwaso’s Chief of Staff, Aminu Abdulsalam and Ganduje’s Director-General on Media and Communications, Malam Baba Halilu Dantiye said the duo had brushed aside their differences and are willing to work together.
