Indications have emerged that, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, the deputy governor of the state may be impeached this week. It was gathered that the panel raised to investigate the number two citizen of the state has concluded sitting and will present its report to the State house of assembly anytime from now. TheSummary Sources said, the Assembly is most likely to approve the report of the panel, which is expected to indict Olanusi immediately after its submission.
Counsel to the deputy governor had earlier argued that his client was not properly served the impeachment notice as he was not in the country, saying he only appeared before the panel because his client's son instructed him to do so, as Olanusi was out of the country. However, counsel to the state House of Assembly, Dayo Akinlaja (SAN), said appearance of Olanusi's counsel shows that he was properly served the notice.
