Senator Dino Melaye has maintained that he will protest against the increase in fuel price by the federal government. Speaking on Sunday night, May 15, on Channels Television,Melaye said he will go on the street if the federal government fails to reverse the price from N145 per litre to the former price of N86.50. “We will open a register after the seven days ultimatum and ask Nigerians to come and register and show their displeasure and after that we will go and present the signatures of Nigerians in the register to Mr President,” he said.

Asked what the register will amount to, the Kogi lawmaker said: “It will amount to the fact that Nigerians are not pleased, Nigerians are not supporting the increase and that we are saying that this is democracy, there must be consultation, there must be negotiations with the people, there must also be partnership. “We are not a Banana republic, we must be responsible as a people and the people must have their right to speak and ask their questions and the government must be ready to be responsive to the aspirations of the people.” The lawmaker said he has no regret supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last general election.  SCROLL DOWN TO WATCH VIDEO
