Senator Muhammed Hassan, representing Yobe South Senatorial District, has described how he lost five ribs to Boko Haram attack during electioneering in Yobe State. According to senator Hassan, his closest confidant died during the attack on his convoy by Boko Haram. Speaking in an interview, the Vice Chairman of Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory, said: "I am a victim of insurgency.
"As I speak with you, five of my ribs are broken. "There was an attempt on my life but we thank God I survived it. He commended soldiers fighting insurgency in the nation's North East. Giving a vivid account into his attack, The Senator said, "The attack was directed at my own car. When I was taken to the hospital in that town, I did not know how bad our hospitals were until I was asked to be taken to one of the hospitals in my home town." He added that the incident prompted him to build an hospital in his hometown.
