Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday apologised to its citizens over the continued fuel scarcity being experienced across the country. Buhari while addressing a joint session of the National Assembly during the presentation of the 2016 budget of N6.08 trillion, blamed the long queues that have returned to fuel stations on the activities of speculators and those resistant to change.

Buhari further promised Nigerians that there would be no increase in the pump price of petrol. In his statement Buhari said, “Indeed tough decisions must be made but this does not mean that we would increase the level of pains being felt by Nigerians."
