Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, was on Saturday awarded an honorary Doctorate degree in Political Education at the combined 6th and 7th convocation ceremony of the Tai Sholarin University of Education, Ijegun, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. At the convocation ceremony in which a total of 5,970 students took part, Obasanjo asked the graduating students of the institution to be ready and determined to contribute meaningfully to the development and progress of Nigeria.
The former President also said, good education would help Nigeria and its citizens break from the cycle of poverty. The Visitor of the institution, Ibikunle Amosun, the Ogun State Governor, reiterated the commitment of his administration to developing the education sector. 12 of the graduating students bagged first class.
