The administration of Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State, has been described as one which lacks clear-cut direction on problems of traffic gridlock and robberies plaguing the state. London-based weekly magazine, The Economist, which gave this description in its latest issue said, Ambode, rather than build on the successes of his predecessor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), had continued to fail at what he was elected for.

The 172-year old magazine added that Ambode has only been giving excuses for his shortcomings. Fashola, the paper, said enforced stringent traffic laws and empowered the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority. He, however, described Ambode's undoing as relaxing the enforcement of traffic laws which had encouraged a culture of impunity in the state. Explaining further, the paper said, the traffic jam was already affecting productivity and the way of life of Lagosians because workers now get to work late.
