FUEL SCARCITY: Buhari Approves Oil Marketers' Subsidy Claims - See Shocking Amount Approved For Subsidy Payment

The Federal Government has approved the payment of N413 billion as outstanding subsidy claims, to oil marketers, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said on Wednesday. The NNPC in a statement by the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Mr Ohi Alegbe, said "It is our belief that with the outstanding payment due to Oil Marketers now assured, the marketers and other downstream players will join hands with the NNPC to guarantee that the nation remains wet with petroleum products all year round".

Inspection team from the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, the statement said, have been commissioned to go round, in order to eliminate hoarding of the products. The Corporation also revealed that it had increased the volume of products distributed to stations across the country, in order to ensure that there are no fuel queues ahead of the festive season and beyond.
