BREAKING NEWS: Osun State Government Announces New Ooni Of Ife [SEE PHOTO]

40-year-old Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi was in the early hours of Monday announced as the Ooni of Ife, by the Osun State Government. Ogunwusi replaces Oba Okunade Sijuwade, who passed away in July after a brief illness. His appointment was unveiled in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Moshood Adeoti. The statement reads: “The Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has approved the appointment of Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi of Giesi Ruling House as the new Ooni of Ife. “This choice follows the completion of the due process by the kingmakers and the communication of their decision to government.”

Ogunwusi of the Ojaja Royal compound of Agbedegbede in the Giesi Ruling House, attended The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy. He thereafter ventured into business and became a property merchant. Before the selection of Ogunwusi, THE SUMMARY had reported that there was heavy security presence in Ile-Ife since Saturday, amid plans by the government to name the Ooni.
