Former Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam was a guest of the the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for about seven hours, yesterday. The former governor was quizzed for alleged N130billion debt and disposal of shares of the state in a cement company. A source said the ex-governor arrived at the EFCC headquarters about 10am. The source said, the commissioner for Finance under Suswam was earlier interrogated.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said Suswam was was at the commissions office to "interact" with its team on some issues. A source close to Suswam who confirmed his appearance before the EFCC operatives, said the ex-governor was not arrested as being insinuated. According to him, Suswan was invited by the EFCC and as a leader with respect for the rule of law , he honoured the invitation.
