Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi has said, the federal government intervention fund is not enough to bail out states blaming the nation’s dwindling economy on extreme dependence on oil.

Speaking on a radio programme "Voices" monitored in Ibadan, Ajimobi warned that if proper measures were not put in place to redirect the economy, Nigerians may suffer for the current dip. The governor said, in 2011, the state was collecting N5 billion as allocation as against the N3 billion accruing to the state now. He said, the state cannot execute any tangible projects again because of the workers’ salary. He said the implication is that government will continue to owe workers even after settling salary arears.
