President Muhammadu Buhari will leave the United States of America for the United Kingdom on Thursday, September 21, 2017. The president will stop over in London on his way back to Nigeria after the conclusion of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
This was disclosed by the president's Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, on his Twitter account (@BashirAhmaad). He tweeted "After successful outings at the 72nd Session of the UNGA, President MBuhari leaves New York today for London, on his way back to Nigeria." It is believed that President Buhari's stop in London is a scheduled medical appointment with his doctors. Controversy had trailed his last visit to the UK capital after he spent 103 days on medical vacation treating an undisclosed illness.
