MOBIN, the Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria, a pro-Biafra group, has supported Chief Chidoka, the United Progressive Party candidate, for the governorship election in Anambra State, which will take place in November. It is known that MOBIN has long been the political wing of IPOB.
ThankGod Offoelue, MOBIN`s director of media and mobilization, made a special statement on this occasion. He told that MOBIN had nothing against Chief Osita Chidoka. “We would willingly support him during Anambra governorship elections. However, the UPP is a very dishonest party, and being its member while agitating for Biafra is unacceptable,” told MOBIN`s director of media.
He also told that MOBIN wanted to restore confidence in Biafrans that the political process had been set in motion, and there was no going back on the political option.
Additionally, MOBIN severely criticized Mr. Ben Obide, one of its principal members. According to the group statement, he shorn of membership of the fold after claiming he had been chosen by the working committee of the United Progressive Party.
“Our attention has been drawn to a release credited to Mr. Ben Obide, where he has denied membership of MOBIN. Obide has also claimed that the United Progressive Party, Anambra State Working Committee, nominated him,” the statement said.
The Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria also called Biafrans for remaining calm while there was no alternative for a referendum.
